Environment-Induced Performance of End Concrete Diaphragm in Skewed Semi-Integral Bridges

چکیده
Past research has shown that as skewed bridges change temperature, additional lateral movement or forces will occur along with the elongation of bridge. Even though past documented this behavior, movements semi-integral bridge superstructure associated temperature effects on skewness have not been well predicted. In study, seasonal a 24-year-old caused by abutment investigated conducting series field measurements subjected to various environmental climates. The measured data showed heated up, tended move toward acute corner bridge, and would contract towards its obtuse negative change. During warm weather, cracks end diaphragm open positive close change, which was much more predictable than cold weather behavior. This behavior confirms even moves linearly response depends season. Movement from in diaphragm, are now propagating deck. These could damage enough it require repair work future. evidence study help provide complete picture jointless so future can be made safer efficient.

Performance Evaluation of Integral Abutment Bridges
To establish a maximum safe length and design details for zero skew steel and concrete bridges with integral abutments, a survey of the highway departments of all 50 states was conducted. The findings of the survey include maximum lengths of integral abutment bridges being constructed, advantages and disadvantages of these bridges as perceived by the various states, and the extent of field obse...
متن کاملField Performance of Prestressed High Performance Concrete Highway Bridges in Texas
16. Abstract Two prestressed high performance concrete (HPC) highway bridges were constructed in Texas utilizing concrete with 56 day design strengths of up to 97 MPa (14,000 psi). The utilization of HPC allowed for longer spans and larger girder spacing than typically used in conventional prestressed concrete bridges. An extensive research program was conducted to monitor the shortand long-ter...
متن کاملProbabilistic Evaluation of Seismic Performance of RC Bridges in Iran
Many existing bridges were designed without adequate consideration of seismic risk. The full or partial collapse of even one major bridge in a city or community would have destroying results. There has been focuses on developing fragility-based seismic vulnerability of existing usual bridges in Iran or support decision making on seismic upgrade. This article focuses on developing performance b...
